Hopes were high in San Francisco for this year as the 49ers won 3 of their last 4 games last year and then came out and went 4-0 in the preseason. They then laid an egg in Week 1 at Seattle. The Seahawks demolished the Niners 31-6. Frank Gore was held to 38 yards rushing mainly because they had to play from behind most of the game. Alex Smith failed to reach the endzone and threw 2 interceptions completing only 57% of his passes. It seems like forever since the Saints have played. They opened the season 11 days ago with a hard fought 14-9 win at home against the Vikings. Drew Brees was very solid, completing 75% of his passes for 237 yards.
